Audience: 15-20. Setting: Intimate, local restaurants
The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) takes a distinctive approach to ensure a frank and intensive intellectual exchange among all participants through careful selection of skilled moderators and three different formats of debate. The variety of formats allows for a vast range of topics to be discussed, each in its optimal setting.
The formal, on-the-record, plenary sessions include all Forum attendees and can leverage the Forum’s media participation to raise the visibility of comments to the wider public. The plenary sessions are designed to increase interactivity through moderator-led audience-panelist engagement and a ‘theatre in the round’ set-up. In a complementary way, the dinner, breakfast, and night owl formats enable Forum attendees to customize their intellectual experience and dive deeper into more intimate, off-the-record conversations with experts and colleagues
